French sleigh fabric bed

Very original and exceptional French upholstered lit Bateau. This rare find has beautiful aged French grey paint on the extensively yet delicately carved frame. Unfortunately the original silk is missing/damaged, apart from the central foot panel where the embroidery remains delightfully in tact We are currently searching for complimentary silk to reupholster.The price does include reupholstery and if you have fabric you would like us to use please let us know. We can supply bases and mattresses in all comfort choices and arrange national and international delivery.

The upholstered bedstead has been a perennial favourite in France during the last 100 years and, as a result, has been made in large numbers. We will normally, therefore, have a number of examples in our collection, in various styles and sizes.

Upholstery

Some beds retain their original fabrics, condition permitting. However, we do offer an upholstery service.
In this way our customers are able to select a fabric of their choice and participate fully in the restoration process.
Bed frames are offered in natural wood finishes, a wide range of paint effects or can be hand polished to work with your existing furniture.
