Gorgeous and Uniquely Shaped Louis XIV Style Upholstered King Size

This stunning Louis XIV style bed has incredibly attractive shaping in both the head end and foot end with the foot featuring a uniquely shaped upholstered centre. The whole frame is brimming with detail with gorgeous carving throughout featuring classic interlocking geometric patterns and florals. The posts have very nice fluting and foliate carvings with particularly attractive carved finals. The side rails are also upholstered and feature the same carving as seen on the bottom of the foot end. The upholstery is perfectly usable, and in good condition, the siderail upholstery has a few minor marks, which shouldn’t be seen when the bed is dressed. We can re-upholster in fabric (supplied by the customer) for an additional £650. All in all, a truly stunning bed and a fabulous example of the skilled craftsmanship of the era. We have cleaned, restored and extended the siderails to ensure a beautiful, solid and sturdy bed. This bed is suitable for a UK modern King size mattress 150cm x 200cm. Whole bed has been cleaned, checked and sympathetically restored to ensure solid, sturdy construction and good assembly. Price includes wood slats (sorry not mattress). As an alternative to the wood slats we can supply mini box bases for superior mattress support and to raise the get into bed height. The bed is photographed on a 2” base inside the rails (sitting flush with the top of the upholstery) with one of our Montpellier mattresses.
