Handsome simple Louis XVI style caned double size bed in its original paint (eau de nil) with twisted ribbon carving and acanthus leaf carvings in frame. The frame and cane have been treated and cleaned and waxed to preserve. Whole bed has been checked and sympathetically restored to ensure solid, sturdy construction and good assembly. Side rails have been professionally and sympathetically extended to suit modern length double size mattress 4’6’’ x 6’3’’/ 135cm x 190cm inside the rails. The bed is photographed on a slats and our Chartres mattress. We can supply hand-made mattresses in all comfort choices and with zip and link connection.
