Truly magnificent king size Victorian brass and iron bed with stunning original naturally aged brass including cut glass decoration, wonderful collars and knobs, spiral spindles and spiral discs. Brass husks, knees and feet.Original black porcelain castors. It is very rare to find a bed with such spectacular decoration in such good condition. The bed has been sympathetically restored, with side rails adapted to support wood slats and suit a modern length king size mattress 150cm x 200cm /5' x 6'6". Joints have been checked for good fit and the iron work has been shot blasted and primed prior to hand finish in Jet black with wax to preserve for another hundred years. Price includes wood slats (sorry not mattress) As an alternative to the wood slats we can supply mini box bases for superior mattress support and to raise the get into bed height.
